OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS~~~~~~~~~THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me start by saying, i loved this series, its made me laugh, gasp and cry, oh have i cried. Cried to the point i was sniffling and sobbing. This book is a so so sad, its a bitter sweet pill. I had such mixed feelings about reading this, yes i wanted to see if Phoenix got his eternal rest. That Darina also got her answers, i kinda kept putting off reading this for too long.
In this book we rejoin Darina and the beautiful dead, this time its Darina's beloved Phoenix she is helping. This one is much more painful for her than, Jonas, Arizona and Summer. This one was much more personal. Yet as much as its hurting Darina, she knows she has to do it so Phoenix finds eternal rest. Can she really let go? She is so torn, she doesn't want to let go of Phoenix, she can't let him go, can she?
Darina starts asking questions, poking her nose in, people are not liking it, plus her mom and step-dad have decided they are leaving Ellerton. That adds to the stress that Darina is struggling to cope with as the anniversary of Phoenix's murder is fast approaching. Time is running out. Things are getting scary for Darina. Michael Rohr turns up like the proverbial bad penny, are his intentions good? I had my suspicions, had he something to do with Phoenix's death? Along the way, Darina solve's Hunter's mystery. Finding out that she was a direct descendent to Hunter. Hunter finally had his answers which had spanned all four of the books.
Darina never fails to ask the questions no one else wants to ask, she follows a lead no matter how small or trivial is may be. The answers, the truth was even harder to accept. Darina stuck her nose into the Rohr's business, much to the disapproval of Sharon, Phoenix, Zak and Brandon's mom. She blamed Darina for Phoenix's death. Yet when Darina helps Zak turn his life around, she see's her in a different light.
The truth of what happened to Phoenix was harder to accept. To know who was responsible for killing Phoenix was a blow to the stomach, i never expected it to be who it was.
(I won't say as not to spoil it too much)
I am left with a sadness, that Darina, the Rohr's have to life without Phoenix. Yet a happiness,that Phoenix has his eternal rest. I would like to know what Darina does next, to know she has a life that she does learn how to life with her grieving. I feel she will always miss Phoenix, that he will live on in her heart.
I do hope that Eden Maguire, in time, tells us what happens to Darina.
